Nau mai, haere mai, Kia ora koutou,
Ko Jacqui tōku ikoa and I am proud to be the Principal of Waikoikoi School.
Waikoikoi School is a small rural school with a strong sense of community, where every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best. Nestled in West Otago, our school embraces the unique opportunities that come from learning in and about our beautiful local environment. We believe that authentic, hands-on learning helps children develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
At Waikoikoi School, our vision of Little School, Big Spirit is reflected in everything we do. We strive to provide a high-quality education in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where students are encouraged to take risks, show resilience and develop the skills they need for the future. Strong relationships between students, staff, whānau and the wider community are at the heart of our success.
We are proud of the rich learning opportunities we offer, from academic achievement and leadership development to sport, culture, environmental education and community involvement. Our goal is for every learner to leave Waikoikoi School as a confident, capable and connected young person, ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. I invite you to explore what makes Waikoikoi School such a special place to learn and grow. If you would like to know more or arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

The Waikoikoi School Home and School Committee plays an important role in fostering strong connections between parents, caregivers, and staff. While the committee itself is small, all parents are warmly invited and encouraged to attend and participate in the few meetings held each year.
The committee provides vital support to the school by organising the only two major fundraising events on our calendar:
The Ambrose Golf Tournament
A well-loved event that has been running successfully since its launch in 1996.
The West Otago Quiz Night
A fun, community-focused evening that brings people together while raising funds for our school.
These events not only raise essential funds for school initiatives but also help strengthen our school community. We welcome new faces and fresh ideas. Your involvement no matter how big or small, makes a difference!
