Waikoikoi School provides quality learning programmes and has a safe environment because
of its motivated and committed team.
Each person plays a significant role and we value our students, staff, Board of Trustees,
Home and School and wider community.
OUR STAFF
Principal - Miss Michelle McKenzie
Michelle McKenzie started as Principal in term 4 2009. Miss McKenzie once
went to Waikoikoi School when she was at Primary School. Michelle has been teaching and
had experience in a Management position at Balclutha Primary for the past 7 years and
comes to us with a wealth of knowledge in all curriculum areas. Her enthusiasm to see our
students strive and achieve their goals has set the tone for our school. We know that with
Michelle at the helm Waikoikoi School will continue on in its tradition of turning out
well rounded students who will go on to achieve great things.
You will be greeted with a big smile and a welcoming personality.
Room One Teacher - Miss Debbie Hunter
We have a newly appointed Room One teacher Miss Debbie Hunter who started with us in term 1 2011. Miss Hunter comes to us from Clutha Valley School in Clydevale where she has taught for several years. She has great strengths in numeracy and literacy, and loves working with the junior classes. She has a warm and friendly personality and is a wonderful addition to our school. Miss Hunter is the staff representative on
the Board of Trustees.
Principal Release Teacher
- Mrs Margie Rea
We are privileged to have Mrs Rea teaching at our school. She is patient and passionate
about seeing her students achieve. Mrs Rea has strengths in the arts and our students have
regular opportunities to explore and be creative in dance, drama and music. She has been
highly involved in the information Communication Professional Development and brings new
technology based ideas to her classroom programmes.
Office Secretary/Teacher Aide - Mrs Pam McCall
You will hear a friendly voice when you make a phone call or visit Waikoikoi School.
Pam has a wealth of knowledge about Waikoikoi School (and is currently filling in this position for Vanessa Crawford who is on maternity leave). If you need to know or find
anything then our Secretary, the lady who multi-tasks is the person to ask.
Cleaner/Bus Driver -Mrs Debbie Cruickshank
Without Debbie our school would not have its clean shine and our wonderful students
present. Debbie is our cleaner and bus driver. She knows where all the children live and
plays a vital part in ensuring our children are at school to learn for the day.
OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Our Board of Trustees are very committed to enhancing learning at Waikoikoi School.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the school that works closely with the
teaching staff to set the strategic direction of the school.
Board of Trustees meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month during the school
year. The minutes of these meetings are available to read at the office and are sent out
to each family. Parents are invited to attend board meetings.

OUR HOME AND SCHOOL
We value the support and dedication we receive from our home and school. Their primary
functions are to liaise with and raise funds for the school. Parents will be advised as to
when they are to be held.
